LAUNCH OF ASTITVA...AN IDENTITY

Finally the day arrived- 26 May 2011 for which team Astitva, especially Renu has been waiting for the last 3 months. It has been a relentless journey since the inception of Astitva-An Identity Inc 2 months ago. The optimism of our entire team has led to the realization of a dream not only for all of us in individual capacities and as a team but also for several women who have been looking for a platform like this.

The launch party started with the lighting of the lamp and invocation of the lord, followed by light entertainment.

The occasion was graced by none other than the winner of the Pravasi Bhartiya Award 2011, Lata Pada who also adorns the cover page of Astitva's debut issue.

CRACK THE FEAR OF AGEING!

"Oh I'm...." or "Oh I'm not...." are very common responses to questions related to ageing. Well, everybody wants to remain young forever, especially women  :). That describes how much we love our bodies but unfortunately we cannot help the natural law of approaching towards greater nos. Natural beauty and health have a lot to do with how we feel.
Can we crack this fear of age, being associated with ageing? This discussion compels me to remember Girish Karnad's play Yayati  :). So, we may look young for different reasons, we may feel young at heart for different reasons but at the same time we also ought to become wise as days pass by in our lives in order to understand that ageing is more about evolving as a human being :). About taking care of physical beauty...Yes, we have to take care of it too because the higher power resides in it.
Please comment:)

Of power of women

Travelling within is important for all but for women it must be one of the priorities in life. Why? There is a deep philosophy that goes behind. "Women are the makers of a society". 'Maker' does not imply participation in activities of the society, holding positions and fighting for equality with men only. It also means maker of human beings. History is full of women who have impacted lives of their sons and daughters. Today, science has proven that activities of a pregnant woman affect the womb and making of the child within. This is the power of a woman-right since the inception of a life till it grows to blossom in its own way. So, when we see hatred, violence, greed, caprice...in society, we ought to question our values, when we see love, compassion, devotion, honesty...in society, we can be proud of ourselves. We don't have to fight for power. We already have it!
